Hi!

My name is
Dorsey Sherman

I am a Leadership and Continuous Improvement Coach with over 15 years of experience working across all industries

My Brief History

I am passionate about helping people and organizations improve. I spent 15 years working in large corporations before deciding to start my own business. I’ve since become a Board-Certified Coach and realize that I’ve never had a bigger impact than in a one-on-one coaching relationship. Clients say their scheduled time with me is the only time/space in their lives where they can think out loud, reflect and make intentional decisions on how to work in a way that aligns with their values, their purpose, and the vision for their life.

My core values are Love and Contribution. Clarifying my values as well as my purpose and vision for my life helps me when things are tough. It is like a compass guiding me forward.  What does Love look like in this situation? What does Contribution look like here? Who do I want to BE in this situation? I worked with a coach to figure this out and now I help others do the same.

I am committed to helping people who are interested in looking in the mirror and reflecting on what their ideal self looks like, comparing that to who they are now and then experimenting to close the gap.

Key strengths: I appreciate beauty and excellence in all things. I want to learn from the best and continually strive to bring coaching methodologies that add value for my clients. I have very high standards for myself and am constantly learning about how to be as effective as I can in helping clients create the change they desire. I’m less interested in someone’s opinion and more interested in evidence. What really works? I’m passionate about evidence-based coaching methodology. Another key strength is social intelligence. I am very aware of the motives and feelings of other people. This serves my coaching clients well as I can help identify and understand different emotions and how they are are impacting behavior.

I live in Muskegon, Michigan, USA with my husband and two teenage girls. I love to hike in the beautiful Muskegon State Park, make improvements to our 100-year-old home and am very tired of watching soccer games for the last 15 years (2 more years to go!). I love hanging out with my family, being alone, reading or listening to the latest fiction best sellers or binging British crime series. My career has meandered from studying economics to working in health care operations to Lean consulting and now coaching. I realize that the thread through all these twists and turns is my commitment and passion for helping people. Some of the words people use to describe me are kind, thoughtful, empathetic, smart, analytical, positive, warm, funny, easy to connect with, welcoming. I’m good at creating connection and making you feel comfortable.
